August 27th, 2017 – Denton, Texas
Sigma Phi Epsilon Hall of Fame member Jackie Don Wheeler would have been proud after this year’s 6th Annual 2017 Texas Beta “Balanced Man Scholarship Luncheon”. Close to 80 people were in attendance at this scholarship event at the recently updated University of North Texas Union Building.
Twenty freshmen were chosen as finalists for the academic scholarship and they got to listen to UNT Athletic Director Wren Baker speak about the positive change on campus and the vision for UNT athletics.
Some of those in the crowd were newly elected district governor Glen Ezell, distinguished alumni Jay Lombardo, distinguished alumni Duffy Oyster, alumni Wade Willis, alumni Bryan Marsh, alumni Joe Busick, alumni Chris Alexander, alumni Bill Popek, alumni Luis Sanchez, and David Leersen.
