The Michael Moon / Technifax Academic Scholarship recognizing Diligence
One of Sig Eps oldest sayings taught very early as a new member is “If it’s worth DOING, then it’s always worth DOING RIGHT” and this sentiment holds very true for one of Texas Beta’s distinguished alumni members Michael Moon.
Michael graduated way back in 1978 and transitioned into a technology job out of North Texas State to get things rolling toward starting one of the most recognized companies in its industry in the southwest. “Technifax Office Solutions” would be formed in 1987 by what Michael says a “shoe string”!!
He was recently quoted as saying, “I was young enough not to know any better, it was way harder than I ever imagined, but after 5 years my company started making some money and that gave me a lot of hope”. Today, Technifax has three main offices in Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston, earning close to $20,000,000 in sales annually with just over 100 employees.
As President and CEO of Technifax, Michael is a very happy to mentor upperclassmen before graduation and as a matter of fact, several Texas Beta alumni work for Technifax at the present time.
Yes, “Giving Back” has always been in his blood since graduating from college; Michael Moon is an annual donor for not only for the University of North Texas and its athletic department, but to Texas Beta as well. Michael Moon is a member of the Red Door Leadership Circle thanks to donating $25,000 for the new Sig Ep house on Maple Ave in 2007.
